Meet Dr. Shirley
Dr. Shirley Madhère is a plastic surgeon who practices using a holistic approach. She is the Founder of Holistic Plastic Surgery. As with her multi-cultural background, her interests are diverse and contribute to her perspective that beauty and healing emanate from within, and that external appearance is a reflection of inner health of the mind, body, and spirit. She believes that appearance is an expression of beauty and of our overall sense of wellness. Moreover, she understands that looking well is an important aspect of leadership and achieving professional and personal success. According to Dr. Madhère, “Personal style, manifested by what we wear and how we look, mirrors our complexity as human beings. Thus, beauty is a visual marker of whom we are and how we communicate that to others. This non-verbal method of communication not only speaks volumes about ourselves, but also bolsters our sense of self and helps us to relate to the world.”
Beauty is integral to Dr. Madhère’s philosophy. It serves as the foundation upon which her work is accomplished. She brings a unique and diversified perspective as well as creativity, credibility, and specialized experience to the medical aesthetic aesthetic industry. A published author, Dr. Madhère is a prolific contributor to the written word. She is a public speaker, contributes to press publications and to the scientific literature, and has appeared on various media outlets. In addition to being the founder of Jet Set Beauty Rx, she innovated Click-lift.com (an online consultation portal, or e-consult, named a “best practices” site in the industry), as well as the acclaimed seminar series, “Les Salons: A Wellness Series devoted to The Beautiful Life.” Dr. Madhère is also the creator of Forever F.A.B., a podcast dedicated to Fashion, the Art of living well (wellness), and Beauty. Forever F.A.B. was recently nominated a top 200 podcast in the USA (and #122 in France!). Her spoken word reaches a global audience.
Academics
Dr. Madhère studied biology and English and French literature at Boston University then received her medical education at both Dartmouth and Brown Universities. She is doubly trained in general and plastic surgery, and has received additional aesthetic plastic surgery training under the tutelage of some of New York’s world-renowned plastic surgeons. Dr. Madhère currently practices her profession in New York City where she resides. She remains a citizen of the world and a student of life.
